Beginnings

Possibility

Life is full of beginnings. If we are not exploring new things, we are not trying, growing or learning.

Our movement through life is a series of beginnings, which we might face with hope, excitement or trepidation.  Each beginning opens a world of possibility.

Starting new means there is a chance you will not be good, will not succeed, will be embarrassed or judged (at least in your own mind).  But when we willing to take that step, there is promise.

Each time we meet someone for the first time, it is a chance for a wonderful relationship, a lifelong friendship, or a passing moment that is forever in our memory, inspiring or driving our actions.

Every trip starts with one step can can lead to a whole new world of foods, art, conversation and new perspective.

Every new school year or work position offers a chance to learn, develop knowledge, apply your skills, and knowledge, meet new people, perhaps even find a perfect fit.

Each new day is a chance to start fresh, to be different, better, more courageous, kinder, more creative – or simply more of the ‘you’ you want to be.

There are things and people that you will not want to keep in your life – but how would you know, for sure, with absolute certainty, if you did not take the chance and try?  If you did not step up to a new beginning.

Take a chance.  That the first step.  Try something new.  You might find a new calling, a fun passion, a hidden skill,  a useful bit of knowledge.  At the very least, it will give you new memories and more insight into what you want to do and be.

We are who we build from these beginnings.  Who you become is a result of a series of the first steps followed by the next and another after that.

How do you feel about beginnings?  Do you greet them with enthusiasm and dive right in or are you more cautious or timid?

Do you remember making a fresh start?  What impact did it have on your life?

When was the last time you tried something new?  What was it?  Why did you try it?  What was the result?  What did you learn from the experience?

Think about the beginning of a positive relationship in your life.  How did it start? What were the circumstances?  Was there an instant connection?  Why or why not?

Do you have a favourite hobby or activity?  How did you get started?  Who introduced you to this activity?

Can you remember  a time when something bad resulted in a positive new beginning.  Write the story of how you got from the bad to a fresh start.  Was there a particular person or persons who helped with the transition?  What would you tell someone else in the same situation?

Every Day is a Good Day for a new Beginning
